Alexiane will be performing on July 29th at #TheatreSorano with @unitednations in Dakar as part of United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons, established to raise awareness of the plight of human trafficking victims, and promote and protect their rights. We will be performing with @mouhamed_vj @coumba_gawlo and many other special guests 🌺 Alexiane will be performing #BLUEHEARTS with a wonderful children choir 💙

ALEXIANE's new song with the United Nations against human trafficking

Blue Hearts, the new song with the United Nations against human trafficking, is now available on all streaming platforms. As stated by the United Nations “The Blue Heart is increasingly recognized as the international symbol against human trafficking, representing the sadness of those who are trafficked while reminding us of the cold-heartedness of those who buy and sell fellow human beings. The campaign allows people to show their solidarity with the victims of human trafficking”. Alexiane says: “Being part Senegalese, I felt it was important to incorporate Wolof in "Blue Hearts" as I hope that my song will not only bring further awareness to this important cause, but also motivate others to join the campaign to stop the horrors of trafficking and help those affected. With "Blue Hearts" I hope to inspire others to show solidarity with the people and societies affected and to incite change to combat this issue”.

The French adaptation “SAIS-TU QUI JE SUIS” was co-written by Alexiane, Carla Bruni and Yves Laramée.

“This video may seem raw, but it is full of hope,” Alexiane says. “It’s a very personal song”––Breathe in, breathe out is a constant lyrical motif. “I’m drawn to writing about the journey from hurt to healing, and everything that it takes to find strength. Stay positive, even when it is hard. Find a passion that will be there when everything seems hopeless. And notice how beautiful life is. We all have demons, but I know that we all have safe havens. Music is my safe haven.”
